I’ve graduated from a Languages and Intercultural studies degree myself, including courses on how to teach Greek as a second language, so I know exactly how it is to be stuck at the textbooks and not have the chance to interact with native people of the languages I’m learning. I want to help people with a passion for Greece, or even just people who are planning to visit the country feel confident in their language skills. Language learning is supposed to be educating but also fun, and you should not be afraid to practice in front of a Greek person (me!).

As a native Greek person and someone with a degree in languages, I’ve realised what really mattered to me the most was to sound like a local in the language I was learning. If you feel the same then this course is for you. Starting with verbs and covering all the standard grammar so you know how to form coherent sentences but also nonstandard street slang you wouldn’t learn elsewhere. I will put you in real-life scenarios so you won’t ever struggle speaking with locals during your visit in Greece. I’ve lived in Greece for 22 years and I know exactly where you’re gonna get confused as an English speaker, so I created exercises and quizzes to place you in realistic scenarios where you’ll probably freeze up. Besides the language, if you don’t know anything about Greek culture – do you really know Greek? so I’ll give you my resource list of movies and song lyrics you should know so you’re not clueless in a room full of Greek people.
