Over Ana
My name is Ana, I am Portuguese with Czech origins and I come from a family of musicians. I started my musical studies at the age of 5 years old and to do Theater 2 years later, finally opting to proceed with my higher studies as a cellist. However, I have great respect and love for all performative arts beeing apart of many crossover projects.
I spent two years at the Portuguese National Orchestra Academy in Lisbon. Later on, I moved to the Netherlands in search of better education. I got my Bachelors Diploma at Codarts, Rotterdam where I am now finishing my Masters of Music.

During my Bachelor's, I had Music Education, Methodology and the corresponding internship which involved workshops at schools, observations of lessons, teaching different ages and teaching in groups.
Later on, I taught in a school where I had more than 40 cello students, from 5 to 18 years old. I had to prepare them for all exams mandatory for the school, according to the defined programme. Some of the more advanced students needed guidance and preparation to enter University.
I can assure good cellistic insite, tools for practicing, stage and out posture, adaptation to the students ambitions and my love for music which, I hope to pass on to my students on my lessons, moldable to all levels and ages.

It is beautiful to be able to play a musical instrument. However, when looking to learn the cello one needs regular accompaniment. Either if you want to engage in a hobby or if you want to learn and develop your skills in a more serious way, I will adapt your lessons to your ambitions and desires towards your cello lessons. The duration of our lessons can be flexible according to the necessity or possibility of the student. I have experience teaching ages from 5 to 50 years old.
I normally start the lesson by a small warm-up which can vary from class to class and according to the age of the student. The student is normally invited to play what he has studied at home which is normally indicated by me in the previous lesson. However, it is very nice when students show curiosity and bring new questions and ideas. After showing your homework, we will work on some aspects which might be improved and finally, engage in new material. We will play together in every lesson and play for each other. At the end of the lesson I always ask the student to play or explain what he has learnt the best from that lesson.
Lesson plans may vary, of course and other artistic situations can be offered depending on what you show through the lessons,like playing with other cello students, preparing a formal concert, a presentation for your friends and family, to play music which you like as others which may be proposed by the student him-self.
There is also the opportunity to improve and practice your English, Portuguese, Spanish or Czech since these are the languages in which I can teach, according to the students preference.
The most important thing is that you love music so that we can make some together!!
