Over Filipe
I've been a musician since I was five years old. Music has taken me across Europe: I started learning guitar in Portugal, completed my bachelor's in Spain, spent a year as an exchange student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and finished my master's in guitar performance at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, in the Netherlands. Along the way, I've learned from many teachers and cultures — and that's shaped how I see and teach music today.
I've been playing for 16 years and teaching for five years, and I find it just as rewarding as performing. I love helping people overcome their own fears and limitations on the guitar — probably because I had to overcome plenty of my own in the past.

Every student is different, so I like to shape lessons around where you're starting from and where you want to go.
If you want to play by ear — I'll introduce you gradually to music vocabulary like chords and scales (starting with pentatonic shapes). It's a rewarding way to start making real music from your very first lessons.
If you want to learn classical repertoire — we'll build a strong reading and technical foundation, then work toward more demanding pieces and techniques like rasgueado (Spanish strumming), tremolo, and Baroque counterpoint — always aiming for repertoire that challenges you without overwhelming you.
If you already play at a beginner or intermediate level — we'll focus on refining performance: technique isolation, expression, tone and colour, and how to bring all of that together on stage.
And if blues is more your thing, I teach that too — the same care and structure, just a different language.
