Over Rouzanna
As a jazz pianist and composer, I am passionate about using music to convey emotions and tell stories. I recently completed my Master's degree in Jazz Studies at Conservatorium Maastricht, where my thesis focuses on the blending of South African jazz and Armenian folk music in composition.
Prior to my Master's, I obtained a Bachelor of Music degree, specialising in Jazz Piano Performance, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), both from the University of Cape Town. I completed my first year of my bachelor's degree studying classical piano, before switching to the jazz bachelor's course.
In addition to piano performance, I am skilled at composing and arranging for various instruments and ensembles. I have a wealth of knowledge regarding music history and theory and have experience performing and writing in many different genres of music.

I am a qualified music teacher and have worked as a private piano teacher for several years, teaching students of all ages and skill levels in both jazz and classical piano. Through my experiences, I developed strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt to the individual learning needs of each student.
Lessons are tailored to each student's needs and goals. Whether you're interested in just learning for fun, or you want to take music more seriously, I will develop a lesson plan that suits you. Lessons are taught in English only.

- Classical/Jazz/Modern/Pop/Whatever interests you
- Lessons can also include music history/theory
- You set your own pace for learning so that you are comfortable!
