Over Mojan
I am a composer and music educator, and since 2020 I have been active in the Dutch film industry, and concert music sector. My work blends Iranian musical heritage with my trainings in contemporary classical music.
I have composed for various festivals such as Gaudeamus or Grachtenfestival, and teach Introduction to Composing for Film at Conservatorium van Amsterdam since 2023.
With my background as a guest lecturer at CvA and my experience working with private students, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a practical approach to teaching. I can guide you through the technical, creative, and professional aspects of composing for visual media.

Are you a musician or composer fascinated by the world of film scoring?
My lessons are designed for both aspiring and experienced musicians, offering a personalized approach to mastering the art of film music. Together, we cover everything from the fundamentals of scoring to advanced techniques in composition, orchestration, music functions, and spotting. Lessons are hands-on and portfolio-focused, with practical guidance on collaborating with directors and producers.
One-off mentorship sessions
In addition to ongoing lessons, I also offer focused mentorship sessions. These are ideal for composers working on specific projects or preparing for academic auditions and applications. In these sessions, we can refine scores, tackle creative and technical challenges, and strengthen your portfolio.
Note: My lessons are primarily in English. Persian is also possible.

My lessons are tailored to your goals and background, with a strong focus on creativity and storytelling through music.
They work best for musicians or composers who already have a foundation in music theory, for example, those who play an instrument or have basic knowledge of harmony. From there, we can dive specifically into composing for film.
I also support composers who are preparing applications for film music programs and want to strengthen their portfolio.
To get started, I offer a free introductory lesson where we can discuss your goals, your motivation, how I work, and how I can guide you in your musical journey.
