Over Stavros
He was born in Thessaloniki in 1996. In 2017 he graduated and obtained the diploma
of violin performance with unanimously Excellent grade(10) from the Conservatory of
Northern Greece. He participated and followed several subject in the Bachelor of
violin performance at the conservatory of Utrecht. He studied and attended
workshops with distinguished professors such as: Zlatka Zlateva, Mikis Michailidis,
Stephan Picard, Angel Stankov, Tosca Opdam and Carla Leurs in Greece and
abroad. He has participated in numerous international music seminars such as the
Doumbia International Music Seminars and Musicalp Académie Internationale de
Musique where he has performed as a soloist, in chamber music ensembles and as
an intership practical teacher. In June 2017, he performed in the first world
performance of the work "Nostalgie" for violin and piano by the renowned musician
and composer Solon Michaelides, transcribed by Mikis Michaelides. In the years
2017 and 2018 he was an active member of the Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra of
Thessaloniki and in November 2017 he performed as the concertmaster of the
Symphonic Orchestra of the Conservatory of Northern Greece during the tribute “Life
and work of Maria Callas” operated by the Conservatory of Northern Greece, the
charitable institution “MAZI” and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. He is a member of
the newly formed Kypseli Quintet based in the Netherlands where he is active as a
teacher and as a performer in different musical projects (composition, ensambles
etc). He recently performed in several important classical music concerts such as a
performance for the Cyprus international day 2022 in floriade expo (Almere-
Netherlands) and a performance of the string quartet music for the movie
Frankenstein 1910 by Odysseas Papathanasiou Terzis in the IMMSANE
2022(International Media Music and Sound Arts Network in Education) congress in
Utrecht-Netherlands.

In my violin class, the lessons typically follow a structured approach to ensure effective learning and skill development. During the lessons, you are going to be guided by me, getting personalised instructions depending on your needs and wishes. My teaching method starts from the fundamentals of violin technique and moves into musical expression and interpretation. We begin with warming up exercises and scales to improve finger dexterity and bow control. These exercises help students to develop a strong foundation of technique and posture.
After the warm-up, I introduce new violin playing techniques to the student, such as vibrato or spiccato, depending on the student's level. These techniques are mostly learned through etudes and performance pieces.I usually introduce new pieces of music to practice, which gradually increase in difficulty as the student progresses. During this process, I always stay focused on refining technique, accuracy, intonation, and musical expression.
Alongside technique and repertoire, my violin class often includes music theory and ear training exercises. Students usually learn to read sheet music, understand key signatures, rhythms, and music terminology. This understanding enhances their ability to interpret and perform music effectively.
In addition to individual practice, my violin classe may include ensemble performances, where students have the opportunity to play alongside their peers. These group activities help students improve their ensemble skills, learn to follow a conductor, and develop a sense of musical collaboration.
Throughout the lessons, students will receive constructive feedback, highlighting areas for improvement and setting goals for future practice. They may also explore different musical styles and genres, expanding their versatility and musical knowledge.

Stavros is a really skilled, patient and understanding teacher. He is really good at making difficult musical concepts look easy. I highly recommend anyone who wants to learn the violin to choose him as their instructor.
Ik weet dat hij goed is in lesgeven, omdat dit onderdeel is van de leermethode en kennisoverdracht aan studenten van een conservatorium voor klassieke muziek. Hij heeft geduld en kennis in wat hij doet, wat hem een competente docent maakt.
Ik weet dat hij van het muziekinstrument houdt dat hij al sinds zijn kindertijd bespeelt en dat hij in vele orkesten heeft gespeeld als solist, als eerste viool en als gewoon lid, wat bewijst dat hij een sociaal persoon is met empathie en een prettige omgang.Stavros is a very nice and friendly guy, I really appreciate our cooperation and everything he was able to teach me. His passion for music is something even a person who is not involved with music can clearly see. I wanted to have a little understanding of music later on in life and people were discouraging me, but he was very supportive and made classes a fun gateway time for me! Always quick with a joke and he knows how to make you feel comfortable and confident in your abilities. Thank you Stavros!
