Over Alberto
I am a doctoral candidate in Philosophy at the Ruhr-University Bochum, in Germany. I have a bachelor's and master's degrees in Philosophy from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. During my master's studies, I specialized in Ethics and Political Philosophy in ancient Greece and early Modernity.
I have taught face to face and online courses on Critical Thinking and on Written Communication at the Latin American University, as well as tutoring on Logic, Aesthetics, Academic Reading and Writing, and Philosophy of Literary Texts. I have organized numerous philosophical reading circles and (perhaps more importantly) I enjoy teaching very much.
I currently live in Groningen and will be very happy to help someone who shares in the interest for philosophy to understand it better.

We will focus on some of the most important problems of philosophy under the light of the great thinkers, from the Presocratics to contemporary thought. We will study the questions that have shaped our world and will attempt to understand them as the authors themselves understood them.
Instead of reading commentaries and secondary sources, we will approach the main texts. I believe that honest sharing of our viewpoints and encouragement for focused thinking prepare the ideal ground for study. We will have lively discussions about our own understanding of the texts and their authors. By the end of the discussions, the participants should have a greater insight into the problems that prompted the works of the philosophers and a better grasp of the basics of philosophical text interpretation.
These conversations are intended for anyone who wants to study philosophy with guidance. It may be for students who want to better understand the content of their academic courses, or for those who have an interest in philosophy in general, in a particular area of study (Ethics or Political Philosophy, for example) or simply for someone with a personal question upon which the tradition of philosophical thought may shed some light.

I have known Alberto for many years. He is a responsible teacher, very careful and diligent, and he has plenty of experience. In the case of the Spanish language, he is not only a native speaker, but has an accomplished knowledge of lingüistics. And regarding philosophy, his knowledge is no less thorough.
