Merhaba! I'm Deniz, Turkish is my mother tongue, I grew up in Turkiye, am currently in Amsterdam, and I teach it online to students all over Europe.
A bit about me: I've just finished my psychology degree and I am a Master's student in the Netherlands. I also read and write in Turkish, mostly poetry, so the language is something I love and not just something I happen to speak. Wherever you want to take it, I can go there with you.
My students are usually one of three kinds. Some are starting completely from zero. Some grew up hearing Turkish at home in Europe and speak it fine but never learned to read or write it properly — this is more common than people think, and there's nothing embarrassing about it. And some can already chat comfortably but want to sound more natural, read a novel, or watch a film without subtitles.
Lessons with me are relaxed. Nobody learns a language while feeling awkward, so you'll never be made to feel slow. You'll make mistakes every single lesson—that's the whole point — and I'll fix them without making it a thing.
That said, I do take it seriously. I start on time, I prepare something for each student, and I send you notes afterwards so nothing gets lost. And if something isn't working for you, just say so and we'll change it.

Where we start depends on you. If you are a beginner, we start with the basics. If you already know some Turkish, we start with everyday speaking. After that, we go where you need to go—more grammar, or more words for the situations you are actually in.
Lessons are online and I share my screen. I use grammar sheets and PDFs, and I send them to you after the lesson. You don't need to take notes while you are trying to speak. After a few months you have your own small file to look back at.
Everything is part of the lesson. Grammar, explained simply — I show you the pattern, not a table to memorise. Words, grouped by real situations instead of random lists. Every new set of words comes with a short vocabulary quiz, so they don't get written down and forgotten. Reading and listening at your level. Pronunciation, which matters more in Turkish than people think. Writing, if you want it.
Every few lessons we do a short quiz on the grammar and words we have covered. It is not a test and there is no grade. It just shows us both what you remember and what we should go over again. Most students say this is the moment they see how much they have learned.
After each lesson I send you a short summary: what we did, the mistakes worth remembering, and something small to practice. If you don't have time to practice, that's fine. We continue from where we stopped.
In my lessons you speak from the first minute, even if your Turkish is still weak. Grammar comes when you need it, not before. I correct you, but not after every sentence—that makes people stop talking. I write the mistakes down, and we look at them at the end.
I also use real material: song lyrics, short news, film dialogue, and messages you need to write. Book Turkish and spoken Turkish are different, and I teach both so you know what you are hearing.
