Over Sevastianos
Sevastianos Motorinos (1993) is a musician with a broad interest in music. He is specialised in historical keyboard instruments. He is also composing new music, playing free improvisation and engages with traditional music.
He has performed at: Athens Music Hall, Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera, Athens Baroque Festival, Utrecht Early Music Festival – Fringe, St. Petersburg Chamber Opera, TivoliVredenburg and in many other concert series, churches and festivals in the Netherlands, Greece, Sweden, Russia and Italy.
He took part in the co-production St Matthew Passion of Athens State Orchestra and Megaron the Athens Concert Hall. He participated in the opera production Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell in collaboration with the State Orchestra and Mixed Choir of Thessaloniki. He participated also in the opera production ‘la Dirindina’ by D. Scarlatti of Athens Baroque festival. He has collaborated with the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra. In a series of concerts in 2022 he conducted from the harpsichord the student orchestra of HKU Conservatorium in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.
Sevastianos is part of multiple chamber music groups as harpsichordist or fortepianist such as ‘Albionoria’ ‘Dialoghi trio’ ‘ensemble Diverse & Bizarre’ ‘Decameron ensemble’ and ‘ensemble Amalthea,. In 2023 he founded the baroque orchestra ‘Camerata Utricia’.
In 2020 he graduated from his harpsichord studies in the Ionian University - Department of Musical Studies with Katerina Michopoulou. During his studies, he did an exchange program at Utrech Conservatory and later at Royal Conservatory of The Hague. In 2022 he finished a master’s in HKU Utrecht Conservatory, studying with Siebe Henstra. He has attended masterclasses as an active member with Pierre Hantai, Skip Sempe, Menno van Delft among others.
He was finalist in the Gianni Gambi Harpsichord Competition 2022 in Pesaro. With the ensemble ‘Decameron’, he was in the finals of Rheinsberger Hofkapelle competition 2022, and the finals of Tel Aviv international recorder competition in the ensemble category.

Do you love baroque music? Probably there is not better way to approach it than learning the instrument - synonym of baroque music which ruled the world for three centuries.
I am offering lessons for all levels. Would you like to start learning music with the harpsichord? That's perfect! Are you a pianist who will to discover the different expressive tools that the instrument has to offer? Or are you an experience harpsichordist who would like to develop further his basso continuo skills?
I am an experienced professional harpsichordist with artistic activity participating in numerous of events festivals. I have a six years of experience in teaching individual lessons.
Harpsichord music repertoire is extremely rich and there are plenty of wonderful pieces for all levels.
So even if you are a beginner I promise you will not get bored!
You will learn how to ornament and decorate the melody.
Emphasis will be given of course on expression and musicality.
A big part of the harpsichordists job is to play the basso continuo. This mean that you will learn to improvise instantly in given base lines.
