I studied trombone and computer science back in Canada at McGill University, where I played with the Montreal Symphony, a number of other local orchestras, several jazz bands, and played chamber music. Recently in the Hague, I finished my Masters with research in collaborative composition while performing as an academist with the Residentie Orkest. I was awarded the Outstanding Talent Klassiek award by the Keep an Eye foundation on the basis of my playing and research proposal. I have performed in the Hague, Amsterdam, North Netherlands, Germany, and elsewhere. I have also been an audition finalist in Germany. I have commissioned composers to write new works for my duo and am in the process of working on new solo repertoire with other composers.

I tailor lessons to student's individual strengths, desires, and musical interests, believing very strongly in helping the student and their love of music guide the learning process and the the pedagogical emphases. Lessons (for now!) would best be done in English. With the student, we will work on making beautiful sounds, exploring color through articulation, dynamics, and other control of the instrument, and also work on specific musical material, from foundational texts for the instrument to specific interests of the student. Whether you are starting off and learning how to play, or want some advice about school pieces or music you are learning, we can work on better trombone playing through the music that motivates and guides you.
