Over Carmen
I am Carmen, a Spanish pianist who moved to The Netherlands in 2021.
After having completed the Piano Bachelor in Spain, I studied a Master of Music in Zwolle.
I am a dedicated musician, specially passionate about chamber music. That is why I am part of several ensembles that are constantly looking for concerts and new professional challenges.
In my lessons I want to share this love for music and give my students tools to be as critical and self-sufficient as possible.

I give private lessons in Zwolle to students of all levels. Mainly piano lessons, but also chamber music and music theory.
Students of all levels are welcome.
The classes can be in English, Spanish or Dutch.
The duration and frequency of lessons is flexible, depending on the age and preferences of the student. Normally for adults or teenagers the lessons are one hour long and for younger children a bit shorter, but it depends on the individual.
For me, piano lessons and concerts have a lot in common.
When I play a concert, my main goal is to connect with the audience and convey the beauty and emotions of the pieces I play.
For me, teaching also means instilling in my students the love of music and the drive to improve themselves every day. All of this is only possible if there is a good connection and communication with the students. During my lessons, I strive to create a relaxed and flexible atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable, can take the time to progress and express themselves freely. I use different teaching methods depending on the student's age, level and interests.
Although I specialize in classical music, I also work with some of my students on pop music or other styles. As a beginner, we usually begin by learning to read notes. However, this is not the only option: every student is different. It is also very important in the beginning to learn good technique, to avoid problems in the future. We work on songs, from the easiest to the more difficult, and I enjoy explaining aspects of music theory. If you are interested or would like more information, please feel free to contact me!
