I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker from China and currently a student at the University of Amsterdam. I grew up speaking and studying in Mandarin, and I am also fluent in English, so I can explain Chinese concepts clearly in English when needed. I enjoy explaining the logic behind language and helping learners understand not only what to say, but why it is expressed that way in Chinese. I am patient and happy to adapt to different learning goals and paces.

For beginners, I focus on pronunciation, tones, useful vocabulary and everyday conversation, while explaining grammar and Chinese characters clearly in English. For more advanced learners, we can focus on natural conversation, reading and pronunciation. I am also happy to adapt the lessons to your interests, whether you are learning Chinese for travel, study, work, or simply out of curiosity. I will also explain the logic behind expressions instead of asking you to simply memorize them.
