Over Levent
My name is Levent.
I came to Belgium four years ago to do a PhD in Economics at Ghent University, specializing in microeconomics.
As my PhD is near completion, I want to use the extra time to tutor students in economics, statistics, and mathematics.
I haven't quite mastered Dutch or French, so I prefer to teach in English.
Before starting my PhD, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a Master's degree in economics.
Before coming to Ghent, I completed two years of predoctoral studies in economics at the University of Arizona, where I also taught two economics courses (Introduction to Economics and Game Theory).
I gained additional teaching experience during my PhD by tutoring other PhD students.
In addition to economics, I am highly proficient in mathematics and statistics thanks to my specialization in microeconomics and my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

I teach economics, mathematics and statistics to university students. Depending on the needs of the student, I am able to provide general tutoring in which I cover topics from start to finish, or zoom in on specific questions/topics that are causing issues.
In general, I first go over the learning material until the student has a proper understanding and try to move to active practice (e.g., doing exercises) early on.
This enables me to quickly identify any gaps in understanding and focus on resolving them.
