I’ve been taking vocal lessons with Divakar for almost two years now, and I can honestly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their singing.

I already had experience singing before we started working together, so I wasn’t looking for beginner lessons. My goal was to refine my technique, expand my range, and explore what my voice could really do. Divakar understood that from the start and tailored every lesson to those goals.

He has a great understanding of the voice and quickly picks up on both your strengths and the things holding you back. He’s also great at guiding you on what the next step should be and sharing his expertise in a way that always makes sense. I really appreciate that he’s not afraid to challenge me. It pushes me out of my comfort zone in the best way, and that’s exactly what I was looking for.

The lessons are always relaxed, enjoyable, and focused on the music I actually want to sing. He’s patient, encouraging, and always happy to answer questions.

After two years of working together, I feel much more confident in my voice. I’ve been able to explore parts of it I always knew were there but didn’t know how to access, and the improvement has been huge. I genuinely look forward to every lesson, and I’ve loved every minute of the journey

I knew Divaker from a Family friend.

His teaching style is quite amazing. He's patient, friendly, and cheery and always brings a great mood to class. His enthusiasm to music and teaching never fails to improve my attitude towards learning and singing that day.

Now after more than a year under his guidance we share inside jokes and my singing has improved drastically. He doesn't just guide, but he guides you in a way that is technical (to music- with correct terminology), but also relatable. Truly the best music teacher I've had in my 5-6 years of learning Western Vocals.

Ik ken Divakar via mijn collega die heel enthousiast over hem was. Ik zong al twee jaar zelf, en het ging al best goed, maar het leek me fijn om wat begeleiding te hebben.
Na nu een paar maanden les te hebben gehad van Divakar merk ik ontzettend veel vooruitgang in mijn zang. Hij heeft een hele gestructureerde manier van lesgeven, waarbij we elke keer een nieuwe skill behandelen (denk aan mixed voice, goede breath support, etc.). Ik kreeg direct de vrijheid om zelf nummers te kiezen, en Divakar weet dit ontzettend goed te koppelen aan de technieken die nuttig en belangrijk zijn. Hij gebruikt hele duidelijke metaforen/voorbeelden over hoe mijn stem werkt/hoort te werken. Vaak merkt hij kleine dingen in mijn techniek die ik zelf niet eens door heb. Ik zou lessen bij Divakar heel erg aanraden! Hij leert ontzettend duidelijk en goed, is een super warm en lief persoon waardoor ik echt uitkijk naar de volgende les, en is oprecht misschien wel de beste leraar/coach die ik ooit voor iets heb gehad! :)

I’m so grateful to have such a wonderful singing teacher! He is always incredibly enthusiastic, positive, and encouraging, which makes every lesson something I genuinely look forward to.

What I appreciate most is how safe and comfortable he makes me feel. Singing can be vulnerable, but with him I feel completely at ease to explore my voice, make mistakes, and grow in confidence. He has a great ear and an amazing sense of music, and really knows how to bring out the best in you while keeping the lessons fun and inspiring.

Ik ben begonnen met zangles bij Divakar omdat ik in een moeilijke periode zat en op zoek was naar iets waar ik weer energie en plezier uit kon halen. Achteraf gezien ben ik ontzettend blij dat ik voor hem heb gekozen.

Vanaf de eerste les creëerde Divakar een fijne, ontspannen en veilige sfeer, waardoor ik me direct op mijn gemak voelde. Dat maakt het veel makkelijker om uit je comfortzone te stappen en echt te durven zingen.

Wat ik misschien nog wel het meest waardeer, is hoe goed hij kan uitleggen. Ook zonder veel muzikale kennis weet hij technieken op een duidelijke en begrijpelijke manier over te brengen. Hij kijkt echt naar wat jij nodig hebt en past zijn uitleg daarop aan.

Sinds ik ben begonnen merk ik duidelijk verschil in hoe ik mijn stem gebruik. Ik heb meer controle, meer vertrouwen en begrijp veel beter hoe zingen technisch werkt. Tegelijkertijd zijn de lessen vooral heel leuk, waardoor ik iedere week weer uitkijk naar de volgende.

Ik zou Divakar dan ook zonder twijfel aanraden aan zowel beginners als mensen die al meer ervaring hebben. Als je op zoek bent naar een betrokken, geduldige en deskundige zangdocent die een prettige leeromgeving creëert én je echt helpt groeien, dan zit je bij hem helemaal goed.

I started learning singing with Divakar as a complete beginner and in half a year I could confidently sing in most of my range, and I knew what to practice where I have difficulties.
He was always incredibly patient (for example,when I kept hitting wrong notes to the point I got frustrated with myself, he was still cheerful and positive) and tailored the lessons toward what I was hoping my voice would improve in.
I only stopped working with him because I moved away, but I use what he taught me to this day.

I highly recommend Divakar’s teaching! I got to know Divakar because a friend recommended him as a singing teacher. He teaches very patiently and gives different types of pointers if you have a hard time understanding what exactly to do. He focuses on what I need to learn most as a student. He is also generally such a nice and warm person, to the point where I feel like where I gained a teacher, I also gained a friend

Such an amazing and sweet, patient soul!!!! Also very funny as a teacher. Please don’t search further because this will be the best teacher you’ve ever had!!! He also records voicenotes if you struggle with things plus had a youtube channel with vocal exercises. 100/100 WOULD RECOMMEND!!

Echt een geweldige en aardige zangdocent.
Ik vind zingen waar andere mensen bij zijn heel spannend, maar Divakar zorgt ervoor dat je je op je gemak voelt. Voor mij voelt het eerder alsof ik les krijg van een goede vriend en dat vind ik persoonlijk heel fijn.
Hij geeft ook heel goed les; hij is bijvoorbeeld heel goed in verschillende vocale technieken uitleggen met behulp van bepaalde voorbeelden, waardoor je het veel beter begrijpt.
Als je iemand zoekt bij wie je je op je gemak wil voelen, bij wie je echt vooruitgang gaat merken in je skills en bij wie je allerlei soorten genres kunt aanpakken, dan is Divakar zeker een aanrader!

In mijn zoektocht naar een zangleraar kwam ik Divakar tegen op internet.
Dat hij naast zingen ook helpt met houding en uitstraling maakt hem voor mij een goede leraar.
Ook heeft hij begrip en geduld met betrekking tot mijn onzekerheden, en helpt me daar uiteraard ook bij.
Ik heb meerdere zangdocenten gehad, maar bij maar weinig heb ik me zo op m'n gemak gevoeld en ook vooruitgang geboekt als bij Divakar.
Daarnaast is hij een prettig, en humorvolle persoon.

Divakar is an amazing teacher, very skilled and incredibly knowledgeable about different singing styles and how to create specific tones with your voice! He challenged me in all the right ways and helped me achieve things I didn't think were possible. Highly recommend!

We know each other from the CvA, and I asked him a few times for singing advice, and he is always eager to help.
Divakar is a very friendly guy, with great happy energies and lot's of years of experience in pop/soul/RnB/jazz and last but not least Indian music.
