For every lesson, in the beginning knowing how a student learns (maybe by hearing, seeing or note taking) is the key. Learning what they are getting extra classes and basing the program on that. For maths, it starts with letting students understand what the aim is for a specific topic. Slowly letting them like and understand the subject by giving real life or memorable examples in the class time. After explaining the topic, also writing down some notes while explaining to a notebook i normally continue by solving some questions. After the lesson, taking some notes would help but mainly giving homework to get done by the next class or specific time helps understanding the topic a lot. For Turkish/English i can only teach in English to Turkish or Turkish to English. For this i would need to learn more about what my student wants from me, for example if they want to practise their speaking we would do some grammar exercises and then move on to having conversations.
