• 1) Praat je deze taal vloeiend door je afkomst of omdat iemand jou deze taal heeft geleerd?

  1) I am a native Italian speaker, in other words it is my first language!

  2) Not a person per se but a song! Written by Cesare Cremonini, the person behind the song. "50 Special" perfectly captures the joy of being surrounded by beautiful landscapes, riding on our Vespa's, and meeting friendly people.

• 3) Is er in deze taal een woord, uitdrukking, traditie of typisch soort gedrag dat je bijzonder of leuk vindt?

  3) Yes, it has to be the beautiful art of Italian poetry in all its forms: in literature, in songs, in art and even in movies. I find those linguistic artistic expressions to be often so particularly beautiful in our culture.

• 4) Waarom is het belangrijk om deze taal te spreken, of het nou vanuit een academisch, professioneel of meer persoonlijk oogpunt is?

  4) As many of my students themselves say when I ask them why they want to learn Italian, to better understand their goals and motivations: simply because it is a beautiful language! But not just that: practically, it's very handy to know your way around our beautiful country (well, they don't often speak really good English over there!). Furthemore it's also interesting to deeply understand how many words in neo-latin languages (and not only those!) are interconnected, often referring back to Italian, a close son of Latin, and with mixtures of ancient Greek as well.

• 5) Wat is het lastigst aan deze taal waar het nemen van lessen bij kan helpen?

  5) The most difficult thing in Italian grammar in my opinion is the "congiuntivo" tense! In fact many Italians themselves sometimes still make mistakes with it, even on TV (whoopsie). In general, my approach aims to simplify even the most difficult rules, so I am confident you will master the language if you have a clear understanding of difficult concepts!

• 6) Kun je ons een leuke anecdote vertellen die te maken heeft met jouw beroep of jouw eigen schooltijd?

  6) I realized I had a passion for teaching my native language during Covid, when we were forced at home, and both to make the long days pass and to connect with a loved one, I started remotely teaching Italian for half an hour to my German friend, who in return taught me German for the remaining half hour. I noticed how I couldn't wait for it to be my turn to teach, and he was so happy with my approach too!

• 7) Help ons je een beetje beter te leren kennen door ons te vertellen over enkele reizen die je gemaakt hebt.

  7) Unfortunately I still haven't gone for my "dream trip" yet, which is Japan, so within Europe the most adventurous thing I've done so far has to be my moving to The Netherlands, a country I love!

• 8) Wat maakt jou een Superprof, naast het feit dat je je kunt uitdrukken in verschillende talen?

  8) I am very precise, I am experienced with learning hacks and tools which are about simplification and synthesis, conveying difficult messages in a clear way. Furthemore I want my classes to be fun! So I always make sure to incorporate some fun homeworks alongside the grammar ones.
