Over Youssef
Hi, I’m Youssef. I studied History at Utrecht University and went on to complete a Master’s in International Relations there with cum laude. History has always been the subject that made the world make sense to me, and I enjoy helping others get that same feeling.
Outside my studies I’ve worked on research and evaluation projects for international organisations, and I currently lead a team of fourteen people as a manager. That has taught me to explain things clearly, stay patient and adapt to each person.
I know how stressful a looming exam or essay deadline can feel, so I keep lessons calm, structured and focused on what you actually need. You can expect me to be on time, well prepared and honest about your progress!

Lessons are for Havo and VWO students, IB History students (essays, Paper 1, IA), university students and curious adults. Taught in English.
History makes sense once you see it as people making choices, not a list of dates. My lessons focus on why things happened and on the skills exams test: source analysis, argument and essay writing.
Each lesson starts with what you know and where you’re stuck. I explain the topic with timelines, maps and primary sources, then we practise with questions and past papers. You leave with a short summary and clear points to work on.
I have a Bachelor’s in History and a Master’s in International Relations (cum laude) from Utrecht University. My thesis on the Suez Canal taught me how to work with primary sources, and I did the IB Diploma myself.
