 I’m João, a Portuguese violist currently studying Classical Viola at the Utrecht Conservatory (HKU).
 I’ve had the opportunity to perform with several orchestras, such as the Royal Conservatory of The Hague Orchestra, VU Orkest in Amsterdam, and the Famalicão Youth Orchestra, under the direction of conductors like José Eduardo Gomes, René Gulikers, Arjan Tien and Alejandro Cantalapiedra. More recently, I played in a professional orchestra for the first time, making a concert in Dordrecht with RBO Sinfonia. As a musician, I’m passionate about sharing the beauty of music with others.
My lessons focus on developing both solid technique and expressive playing, always adapted to each student’s level and personality.
 I speak Dutch, English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and I teach both online and in person.
