Over Gabriela
Born in Portugal in 1996, Gabriela started her violin studies at the age of 11 at Centro de Cultura Musical (Famalicão, Portugal) and later on at ARTAVE – Escola Profissional Artistica do Vale d’Ave with teachers António Soares and Nuno Meira. In 2014, she started studying at University of The Arts Codarts with Olga Martinova and currently at Fontys University of Fine and Performing Arts with Jenny Spanoghe and Jolente de Maeyer. Between those years she played with Codarts Symphony Orchestra, Fontys Sinfonietta, Euregio Kamerorkest, Ars Musica, Orquestra XXI, Metropole Orchestra and work with names such as Ernst Shelle, Emílio de César, Peter Askim, Hans Leenders, Howard Williams, Chloe Hanslip, Alexey Stadler and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. With these orchestras Gabriela played in rooms such as CCB Lisboa, Coliseu do Porto, De Doelen Rotterdam, Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam ArenA, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven and Concertgebouw Amsterdam. She got Master-Classes from Alexandra Trindade, Nuno Soares, Jela Spitkova, Agustin León Ara, Ani Schnarch, Aleksey Semenenko, Isabelle van Keulen and Alexei Mijlin. Recently, Gabriela had the opportunity to participate in the "OFF - Opera Foward Festival 2017" in De Nationale Opera & Ballet, Amsterdam. She was also appointed the new leader of the 2nd violin section at Euregio Jeugdorkest - EJO for the season 2017/2018 where Euregio Youth Orchestra won all prices in the Nationaal Concours voor Jeugdsymfonieorkesten. Gabriela is also an active chamber music muscian playing at Arthema Kwartet founded in september of 2017 which in 2018 won the audience prize in the Willem II Competition and the year after the jury and audience prize at the Asten Classical Award.

Music is a wonderful way of bringing joy and people together. My goal is to give you the tools to share it with the people around you. In this class you will learn the basics of violin technique such as the correct body posture, violin hold and the grip of the bow. In combination with violin, a introduction to music theory will also be taught! A personalized plan can be made for each student according to their own musical taste, this could range from classical, film, folk, pop music and others.
Students of all ages are welcomed!
