First I try to get to know the student so as to understand how they feel about chemistry, where she/he struggles at the most, what their goal is & how much time they have.
I usually develop a close bond with my students specially if they are open to it, so that the class can be enjoyable for both of us. I create a safe space for them to not hesitate to ask their questions or to be honest about their studying challenges.
