I believe that the best way to learn a language is to create a custom language. This means that you can learn by living the language itself and rehearsing it in a daily basis. It is not a matter of how many exercises you do or time you invest memorizing the structure and grammar, but rather the connections and the understanding in the essence of the language that will let anyone answer or take a normal conversation with another Spanish speaker. Being able to think in that language just as you do in your first language, and enjoy their media content to immerse yourself in their literature, music, and culture.
It is a long way, but with patience and devotion you can learn any language you desire.
