Hi! My name is Erin, and I am a native English speaker from Australia currently living in Amsterdam. I hold a Bachelor of Arts majoring in History and Sociology from Murdoch University, a Masters of International Law and a Masters of International Relations from the University of Western Australia.
I have experience teaching high school students history as a volunteer, where I helped students understand complex topics in an engaging and accessible way. This experience taught me the importance of patience, adapting to different learning styles, and creating a supportive environment where students feel confident asking questions.
I am a friendly, approachable, and patient person who enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds and helping others achieve their goals. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, exploring new places, and learning about different cultures.
As someone who has moved countries and learned to navigate new environments, I understand how important confidence and communication are when learning a language. I would love to help students improve their English skills in a relaxed and encouraging way.

As a native English speaker from Australia with experience teaching high school students as a volunteer, I provide engaging and personalised English lessons tailored to each student's goals, level, and learning style. My approach focuses on building confidence, improving communication skills, and helping students feel comfortable using English in real-life situations.
My teaching style is supportive, patient, and adaptable. I believe that students learn best when they feel encouraged to ask questions and actively participate. My lessons combine conversation practice, vocabulary development, grammar explanations, pronunciation exercises, and practical examples to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student's goals and discussing areas they would like to improve. We then focus on a specific skill, such as speaking, writing, reading comprehension, grammar, or pronunciation, followed by guided practice and conversation. Each lesson is adapted to suit the student's needs and learning pace.
Through my volunteer experience teaching history to high school students, I have developed strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and accessible way. My academic background in History, Sociology, International Relations, and International Law has further strengthened my writing, research, and analytical skills.
My lessons are suitable for beginners to advanced English learners, including school students, university students, and adults looking to improve their English for study, work, travel, or everyday communication. I can also support students with academic writing, essay skills, and developing confidence in spoken English.
