Over Tasbeh
For process-heavy topics, of which the Krebs cycle is a constant example, I don't hand over the full diagram at once. I build it step by step, drawing each stage as we talk through what's happening and why, then have the student redraw it from memory once we've covered it, which is usually where a process moves from being recognised to being genuinely understood. Lessons combine that visual, step-by-step approach with active recall and topic-sorted past-paper practice, and materials (diagrams, flashcards, question sets) are built around exactly where a student's losing marks.

Three years of tutoring Biology have taught me that most students need a concept shown to them differently, not repeated more loudly, and that's the approach every lesson here is built around. For process-heavy topics like the Krebs cycle, I don't hand over the finished diagram. I build it step by step, drawing each stage as we talk through what's happening and why, then have the student redraw it from memory once we've covered it, which is usually the point a process moves from being recognised to being genuinely understood.
For MYP students in particular, whose schools rarely follow a single standardised exam board, I'll work through a student's actual textbook and class notes and build bespoke practice questions from them, rather than handing over generic material that may not even match what they've been taught. Three years as President of my school's STEM Club, designing and testing experiments before running them for other students, means explaining a process clearly to someone seeing it for the first time is something I've had a great deal of practice doing, not something I'm learning on the job.
I tutor MYP, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB Biology (8s and 9s across my own GCSEs, including all three Sciences), and I tailor every session and every resource to your specific exam board and syllabus.
