Over Veronica
My academic background in linguistics provides me with a deep understanding of how language works, which plays a crucial role in helping students master English effectively. Linguistics explores how humans communicate, from sounds and words to sentences and meaning, and this knowledge allows me to tailor lessons to each student's needs.
Reading and Comprehension: My expertise in phonetics and phonology helps me teach the connection between sounds and written words, making reading more intuitive and improving comprehension.
Pronunciation: With a focus on the sounds of language, I can guide students to refine their pronunciation using clear and practical techniques that break down complex sounds into manageable steps.
Sentence Structure and Grammar: My understanding of syntax—the study of sentence structure—means I can explain grammar in a way that’s logical and easy to grasp, helping students form correct sentences confidently.
By combining this linguistic knowledge with my years of teaching experience, I create lessons that build a strong foundation in English while addressing the unique challenges of each student. My goal is not just to teach English but to empower students with the tools to communicate effectively and confidently.
