Bonjour / Hello!
My name is Yasmine, and I’m based in Zwolle, Netherlands. By profession, I am a jurist specializing in International Law. Outside of the law, you might find me behind the counter as a barista, where I’ve learned that a good conversation often starts with a good cup of coffee.
I believe that language is much more than just grammar and vocabulary; it brings people together. Whether it’s resolving a complex legal argument or simply ordering a coffee in a foreign city, language allows us to connect with others and understand the world around us. That is exactly why I love teaching: I want to help you build those connections with confidence and ease.
I speak both French and English fluently and have worked with students of all ages and levels. Whether we meet online or in person here in Zwolle, I’m committed to making your learning journey enjoyable, productive, and human.

I believe that language learning is most effective when it mirrors real-life communication. I do not follow a rigid textbook approach; instead, instead, I adapt my style to what you need and how you learn best. Whether you want to chat, write, or just listen, I mix it up to keep things interesting.
I switch between different types of activities so you never get bored:
- Just Chatting: We start with real conversation to build confidence. I’ll help you correct mistakes naturally so you don’t even notice you’re learning.
- Writing: We’ll work on emails, stories, or summaries to get your writing on point.
- Listening: We’ll listen to podcasts, songs, or clips to get used to different speeds and accents.
- Grammar in Action: I explain the rules only when we need them, so it makes sense in real life, not just on a page.
A Typical Lesson Every session is different, but usually, it goes like this:
- Catch up: A few minutes of casual chat to get comfortable.
- The Main Event: We focus on one thing—maybe a listening exercise, a writing task, or a deep dive into a grammar point.
- Practice: We do something active, like a role-play or a debate, to use what we just learned.
- Wrap-up: I’ll tell you what went well, what to fix, and maybe give you a tiny, easy task for next time.
