I have been teaching for the last two years. My students were two middle school and high school Kenyan girls. They had just arrived in France and could only speak English. I taught them french, biology, math, physics and chemistry. My lessons were a mix of French and English according to the situations. After a year of teaching, the oldest one passed a very important school exam (all in french) with more than 14/20.

My methods of teaching differ from one student to another, according to their needs and prior knowledge. If the aim is to improve your writing skills, then I will prepare a dictation for every lesson. Otherwise, I will emphasize more on speaking and listening. I try to speak as much french as possible and avoid translations whenever possible. Obviously, the more knowledge the student gets and the less translation is required. I only speak a bit of Dutch so most translations will be in English.
