Hi! My name is Marie and I’m a recent university graduate with a BSc in International Communication & Media and an MSc in Global Business & Sustainability. English has been a major part of both my academic and professional life, and I have studied, written and presented in English throughout my education. Although I currently live in the Netherlands, I teach my lessons in English and do not speak Dutch.
I enjoy working with language and helping people express themselves more clearly. As someone who has only recently finished school and university myself, I also understand the challenges students can face with English assignments, essays, presentations, reading and speaking. I know that sometimes you don’t need someone to simply give you the answer — you need someone to explain things in a way that actually makes sense.
My lessons are friendly, patient and adapted to each student. Whether you need help understanding homework, improving your writing, practising speaking or simply becoming more confident in English, I’ll work with you step by step and at a pace that feels comfortable.
I mainly work with primary and secondary school students who already have a basic foundation in English and would like some extra support. I’m happy to adapt lessons to the student’s level, schoolwork and individual goals.

My lessons are practical, supportive and adapted to the individual student. Since I have only recently finished my own studies, I understand the kinds of challenges students face with homework, essays, reading and presentations. I like to first understand what the student is struggling with, then work through it together step by step.
A typical lesson would begin by identifying a specific goal for the session, followed by exercises, discussion or reviewing the student’s own schoolwork. For writing assignments, I can help with structure, grammar, vocabulary, clarity and organisation, while encouraging the student to develop their own ideas and writing style. For reading, we can work on comprehension, vocabulary and understanding the text. For speaking, we can practise conversation and presentation skills in a relaxed way.
My strongest areas are written English, reading comprehension, communication, presentations, essay writing and giving constructive feedback. I am particularly suited to students who already have a basic foundation in English and want to become more confident and accurate.
My lessons are mainly intended for primary and secondary school students who need extra support with English, homework, writing, reading or speaking. I am also happy to adapt lessons to a student’s specific level, school requirements and individual goals.
