My background includes a Ph.D. in Pathobiology, graduate-level teaching experience, and several years managing research and development programs in the biotechnology industry. My teaching approach is collaborative, structured, and tailored to each student's goals. Rather than focusing on memorization, I help students develop a deep understanding of scientific concepts and build the confidence to solve new problems independently. Lessons combine clear explanations, interactive discussion, practice questions, and real-world examples from academic research and the biotechnology industry.
A typical lesson begins by identifying areas of difficulty and reviewing key concepts before working through examples together. As students gain confidence, I encourage them to explain their reasoning, apply concepts to new situations, and develop effective study and problem-solving strategies. I also provide guidance on scientific writing, research methods, experimental design, data interpretation, and presentation skills when appropriate.
I hold a Ph.D. in Pathobiology and have experience teaching university-level courses, conducting biomedical research, and managing research and development programs at Genentech. This allows me to connect classroom concepts with real scientific and industry applications.
My lessons are ideal for advanced high school students, undergraduate and graduate students, aspiring researchers, and professionals seeking support in biology, biotechnology, physiology, scientific writing, research methods, graduate school preparation, or career development in the life sciences.
