Before each lesson, students may share the topics or questions they want to explore. I structure the session around these goals, using clear standard Mandarin examples, step-by-step explanations and real-time pronunciation and grammar correction. At the end of each lesson, I assign short, targeted practice tasks based on the material we covered. In the following session, I review the exercises, evaluate progress, and explain how to improve or strengthen specific skills.
These lessons are designed for learners who want to develop natural spoken Mandarin, improve tone accuracy or gain confidence in everyday communication. For students interested in modern culture, I also help them learn how to understand contemporary trend directly in Chinese, such as Douyin/TikTok videos, Xiaohongshu posts, trending expressions and online conversations. The focus is on interpreting real-life language, recognising context and meaning, and understanding how Mandarin is actually used across digital platforms.
Lessons are taught primarily in Mandarin, with English used only when needed for clarification. The overall approach is calm, practical and down-to-earth—helping students communicate with confidence and understand modern Mandarin in a clear and authentic way.
