Hello, I'm Michelle! I'm a communications professional living in Belgium where English is an official language and has been the language of my education and my career.
For three years, I worked as a Communications Officer at a research organisation, where I wrote reports, articles, press releases and social media content, and presented ideas to a wide range of audiences. I also work as an independent communications consultant, developing content and campaigns for digital rights projects. Every day, my work depends on clear, accurate and engaging English, and that's exactly what I love helping others achieve.
I'm currently completing my Master's studies and am enrolled in a programme at Howest University of Applied Sciences in Bruges. As a student myself, I understand the challenges of studying, writing assignments and presenting in a language that may not feel natural at first. I also know how rewarding it is when things finally click!
As a teacher, I'm patient, encouraging and well organised. I prepare every lesson carefully around your goals, give honest and constructive feedback, and create a relaxed atmosphere where you can make mistakes without feeling embarrassed. That's how real progress happens.

About my lessons
I'm a communications professional with several years of experience writing, editing and presenting in English for research organisations and development projects. I now use that experience to help learners speak and write English with confidence and clarity.
My teaching methods
My lessons are practical and conversation-based. I believe people learn a language best by using it, so every lesson combines speaking practice with focused work on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. I use real-world materials such as news articles, podcasts, emails and short videos, so learners practise the English they'll actually need. I adapt my approach to each student: some learn best through structured exercises, others through discussion and role-play.
A typical lesson
We start with a short warm-up conversation to relax and review what we covered last time. Then we focus on the main topic of the day, whether that's a grammar point, a writing task or a specific situation like a job interview or presentation. Next comes guided practice, where you apply what you've learned while I give you clear, supportive feedback. We finish with a brief recap and, if you like, a small task to practise before the next lesson.

Who my lessons are for
My lessons suit secondary school pupils who want to improve their grades, university students working on assignments or theses in English, and adults and professionals who need English for work, travel or everyday life. I welcome all levels, from beginners (A1) to advanced learners (C1), and I tailor each lesson to your goals, whether that's passing an exam, preparing for an interview or simply speaking more fluently.
