I am a funny person who is always searching for a way to show people that math can in fact be fun and helpful to learn. I have a lot of interests and out of the box thinking which allows me to explain a mathematical problem in 12 different ways. If that does not work for my student to understand I would make up a 13th way. There is always a solution, the right one may include interpretation with cows in the space for the student to understand but way not ;)!

I do not have a strategy because no kid is the same and I teach each kid the way they need it. First thing is to talk , not with the parents even if the kid is 9 but with the kid. I hear what they want ,what is their goal, what is their attitude towards math is, what they like. All of this is important to me so I can understand the kid and find away to teach them the needing material in a way they would like and understand even if this requires me to learn car mechanics or watch a kids animal show so I could make the right references. I try to make math as fun as possible even though most of the time it cannot be. I am not an average teacher, I never studied for it. However, I seek the fun in math and teach every student in a different way that is right for them and made to achieve their goals.
